HR Intern Still Needed at McCormick & Company

Great Paid Internship located in Hunt Valley, MD

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor, is seeking a part time Employment Center Intern in its centralized recruitment center (the MEC) located in Hunt Valley, MD.  The MEC is a part of Human Relations within the Corporate Headquarters Division of McCormick.  

This internship will start on or around October and end some time in mid February 2012.  The intern will work a flexible schedule for the month of October.  For the months of November to February, the intern will work Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Note that this is a paid internship, but housing expenses will not be covered.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:
•    Posting job openings on McCormick’s internal board, external career site, and also on outside websites and job boards
•    Assisting with the maintenance and coordination of the administrative pre-employment process for new hires
•    Greeting and helping on site visitors, answering phones, and responding to general recruitment related inquires
•    Screening and pre-qualifying resumes for submittal for select entry level openings
•    Coordinating interviews and scheduling travel arrangements
•    Maintaining proper documentation in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and in hard copy files
•    Special projects/assignments as dictated by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Enrollment as an undergraduate college Senior for the Fall 2011 OR enrollment in a relevant graduate school program for the Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 school year required
•    Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources or very closely related field required
•    Grade point average within major of 3.0 or better required
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills required
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
•    Basic knowledge of Human Resource related practices, policies, and/or theories preferred
•    Basic recruitment related knowledge preferred
