The ideal student will be an undergraduate studying computer science or a related field where programming is a part of the curriculum. The student must be attending a school in the state of Maryland. The core job duties will include using custom programs written in Web-based languages to develop HTML Web pages, program back-end server systems, and administer Web servers. Student should be familiar with most
appropriate technology to develop, package, and distribute Office of Public Outreach content via the Web. In addition to programming, testing of each product prior to its dissemination is critical to insure quality fo the Web-based products being released.
Desired Skills:
Qualified students should have some experience with web programming languages and environments (HTML/CSS/PHP/Ruby/JavaScript, Linux, OS X) and familiarity with web-based protocols (HTTP, AJAX).
