Position Summary  To further its mission and to bolster its commitment to children and families, Casey offers time-limited internships to college and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in philanthropy, human services, public policy or related field. The primary purpose is to enhance the educational development with entry-level experience in the role of philanthropy.  The KIDS COUNT Intern will report directly to the Senior Fellow for Policy Reform Advocacy and will assist with monitoring the activity of the KIDS COUNT network, helping to plan and implement the Annual KIDS COUNT Conference, promote of KIDS NET, and assist with the KIDS COUNT Working Groups.

Position Conduct research and organize materials on various topics pertaining to the Foundation’s program and mission. Assist in the preparation of materials needed to accommodate the breadth of program replication and dissemination activities.  Prepare response to requests for information.  Assist in implementing and overseeing program related projects and/or initiatives.  Assist and provide administrative support as needed.  Participate in conference, seminars, and other activities congruent with program needs and topical area of interest.  Stay current on relevant issues, policies, exemplary programs, resources and information.  Exhibit sensitivity to and respect for diversity in personal, professional and business relationships on behalf of the Foundation. Seek to utilize the Foundation resources in an equitable manner with regard to race, ethnicity, and gender.  Demonstrate awareness and appreciation of the Foundation’s mission, values, standards, principles and programs, drawing on Casey’s Knowledge Management System, intranet, website, staff development sessions, and other learning opportunities to establish this competency.

Qualifications  Graduate level at an accredited college or university.  A Bachelors degree in human services, social work, business or related field with relevant work experience in a non-profit environment is preferred.
