Student Coordinator Positions Open!
Lead UMBC students in Service-Learning and Civic Engagement!
The Shriver Center Staff is looking for UMBC students interested in leading service-learners in Service-Learning and Civic Engagement work!
We currently have two opportunities to be a Student Coordinator in Fall 2018.
COLLEGE GARDEN YOUTH PROGRAM: Tue, Wed or Thurs (pick 1-2 days) 2:45-5:30.
An after school program run by the Y of Central Maryland for youth 1st-8th grade in Baltimore City.
Student Coordinators at this site are asked to:
- Recruit and train service-learning students
- Drive s-l student to College Gardens on a weekly basis
- Act as liaison between Shriver Center staff, College Gardens staff and service- learning students
- Lead 2 reflections sessions
- Attend Bi-Weekly Student Coordinator meetings
Qualifications: Valid Drivers License, Enrolled at UMBC
Preferred Qualification: Experience with youth or youth programming, excellent communication and organizational skills, experience in Prac 096.
Background Check Required
MS SWIM: Friday 1pm-4pm:
A unique program run out of the Y in Catonsville. MS Swim asks service-learning students assist adults with MS through stretches in the pool.
Student Coordinators at this site are asked to:
- Recruit and train service-learning students
- Drive s-l student to the Y in Catonsille on a weekly basis
- Act as liaison between Shriver Center staff, MS Swim staff and service- learning students
- Lead 2 reflections sessions
- Attend Bi-Weekly Student Coordinator meetings
Qualifications: Valid Drivers License, Enrolled at UMBC
Preferred Qualification: Excellent communication and organizational skills, experience in Prac 096.
