Consider Service-Learning This Fall!
Serve others. Challenge Yourself. Receive Notation.
The Shriver Center's Service-Learning Program is excited to connect a number of community partners (particularly non-profits and schools) with UMBC students who eager to learn about the community through sustained service and connect that knowledge with areas of study.
Over the summer, Service-Learning Staff met with a number of new sites, and is building more opportunities with others, particularly through leadership positions who offer transportation. These sites include Lakeland Elementary Middle School, The Choice Program (M, Tues, & Wed), and Walden Circle on Tues & Thurs. College Gardens' afterschool program needs volunteers each day, Monday-Thursday.
See us at Involvement Fest on Wed. 9/4, 12-3pm or call The Shriver Center to set an appointment, (410) 455-2493.
Please see the attached Fall 2013 Service Chart, as well as our 096 Syllabus for Community Service & Learning.
