Raytheon Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Warfare solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD and this candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.

SYSTEMS ENGINEERING INTERN

The successful applicant will apply state of the art technology, tools, and processes across the entire systems engineering life cycle performing these specific duties: Assisting a team of Systems Engineers performing System requirements analysis, definition and management, System architecture design, Design synthesis, Trade studies, Technical support for software development team, and Systems integration, test and performance verification.  Emphasis at this level is System integration and performance verification of the Solipsys suite of products but some minor involvement in requirements definition and design will be required.  

Required Skills

    Fundamental knowledge of Linux, Unix, and Microsoft Windows operating systems through coursework/projects
    Coursework/projects and an understanding of C++ or Java
    General knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML), desired
    Working knowledge of standard MS Office product suite applications
    Ability to learn to use of Requirements Management software, such as DOORS
    Ability to develop skills using a system architecture development tool, such as Enterprise Architect or Rational Suite
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Possess strong analytical and quantitative abilities
    Ability to manage multiple tasks, working as part of a team

Required Experience

    Looking for Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics majors
    Prior experience or course work with C++ or JAVA
    Prior experience with DOORS a plus
    Previous experience as an intern or summer hire, working for a DoD contractor, desired

SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERN
 
We are currently searching for a Software Engineering Interns for 20 hours a week through April 2013. Successful candidates will have knowledge of Java or C/C++, basic software engineering principles, design patterns, and object-oriented design concepts. These positions are located in Fulton, Maryland and require the ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret Clearance.
Key areas of responsibility will include:

•Full lifecycle development including software requirements, design, development, debug and test in various software languages - Java or C++
•Uses design methodologies and patterns in order to build high quality systems; maintains compliance with appropriate standards
•Software analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis
Required Skills:
•Demonstrated skills and training with Java and/or C++ in a Unix environment
•Demonstrated skills with object-oriented software analysis and design
•Candidate should be self-motivated and work well individually or in a team environment
Required Experience: 
•0 - 1 year experience with full lifecycle development including software requirements, design, development, debug and test in various software languages such as C++ and/or JAVA 
•Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or other related engineering discipline 
•Coursework and project experience developing applications in Java or C/C++ 
•Coursework and project developing applications using Object Oriented Design methodologies - using SW Development tools 
•Previous Internships in DoD software development environment a plus
