Championing Children: Childhood Protected, Rights Respected


Erinique King, assistant director of Intensive Advocacy services, was featured in the Afro recently alongside other experts in the youth legal system. Their panel was part of an ongoing, state-wide, series sponsored by the Office of the Public Defender: In Defense of Us – Championing Children: Childhood Protected, Rights Respected.

The Choice Program provides community-based, supportive services for young people who are under the care and supervision of Department of Juvenile Services. Erinique first served as an AmeriCorps member with Choice upon her graduation from Bowie State University. She returned as a service coordinator and was promoted to assistant director in recent years. She leads teams in Baltimore and Howard Counties.
