Mayor’s Office of Human Services – Community Action Partnership (MOHS-CAP) is the local agency and advocate in Baltimore City whose mission is to promote new programs, strategies and delivery systems which lead to increased family self sufficiency.
MOHS-CAP seeks to hire graduate students and/or outstanding undergraduate students as part-time coordinators for our new Family Online Solution Centers. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and help low income families’ access comprehensive housing, health and economic benefits through use of technology based platforms. These platforms combine technology advancements in applications and coordination of benefits to increase utilization of services and improve outcomes for low-income families in Baltimore.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate online application services at Baltimore City Community Action Centers
- Receive and analyze in-home assessment of housing and health needs and referral services for low-income clients using Leading Innovation for Green and Healthy Tomorrow (LIGHT) Assessment tool
- Receive and analyze in-home assessment of economic benefits using Seedco’s Earn BenefitsTM tool
- Draft comprehensive Work Plans for all available housing, health and economic benefits available to clients across multiple human service agencies
- Provide application assistance for all available services through the Family Online solution Center; using online applications and digital signatures when available
- Collect and file all electronically scanned records of eligibility documentation necessary for applying for all available benefits
- Communicate across agencies to sequence housing and health services for clients with a network of public and non-profit service providers
- Serve as a liaison to clients with any questions or concerns pertaining to delivery of housing and health services
- Track status and application submittal, receipt of services and service outcomes
- Develop and maintain communication with partner agencies that are being coordinated with for clients
- Provide reports and updates to MOHS-CAP Administrator of Programs, CAP Director and Green and Healthy Homes Learning Network team
Assist in various tasks that contribute to coordination of services through MOHS-CAP
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a background in social work, public health, human services, or related fields. Graduate students and outstanding undergraduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for serving communities in Baltimore.
Candidates must possess their own vehicle and be willing to work with low-income individuals.
Selected candidates are expected to start June 4th and work at minimum through the summer. Continuation through the Fall semester is encouraged. Hours are flexible (ranging from 10 hours to 30 hours a week) and may be reduced during Fall semesters and increased over the Summer. Compensation will be provided at an hourly basis between $10.00 to $14.00/hour, commensurate upon experience.
