Program Overview
The Operations Summer Internship Development Program executes business operations and processes and manages business infrastructure for our internal clients. The 10-week program supports the major lines of business (LOBs) and core functional groups including Asset Management, the Investment Bank, Treasury & Securities Services and Corporate Groups. Because of the deep subject matter expertise, you will develop and learn from extensive product training. Interns in the program are expected to build their career within their LOB beyond their tenure in the program.
Roles and Responsibilities
Operations interns add value by providing operations support, including core processing, settlements, trade support, cash reconciliation, client service and business reporting.
Training and Development
Over the duration of the 10-week summer internship program, you will be offered a unique combination of facilitated, self-paced, and on-the-job training opportunities, while gaining real world business experience through challenging, hands-on work in the supporting business areas. In addition to Line of Business specific training and development, the program’s robust and strategic curriculum includes:
• Upfront training and structured ongoing training and development opportunities
• Professional skills and leadership training
• Business competency skills training
• Additional program support and coaching
Qualifications
Only those who are highly motivated and eager to build a long-term career within the business operations and support areas of a major financial services institution will be considered. Also we look for candidates who are results-oriented, client-focused and have demonstrated professionalism through previous employment, internship or school/community leadership experiences. Specific qualifications include:
• Rising seniors in college, with limited opportunities for juniors
• Working towards a BS/BA degree, preferably a business or engineering degree
• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5
• Previous related internship experience and/or other relevant experience is preferred
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong, proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills both scholastically and practically
• Proven ability to synthesize information to reach logical conclusions; manage projects, evaluate & improve processes and present findings

Training and Development

• Application Developer: Translate business and technical requirements into applications or solutions; design and develop solutions for clients, working directly with traders and marketers; drive best practices with the possible move to Continuous Integration Testing (CIT); deliver new business products or enhance existing applications; learn the realities of real-time coding in an electronic trading environment and the development of a pricing system which requires up to 80 inputs to value a complex financial product
• Business Systems Analyst: Identify, assess, and record near-term business needs; analyze requirements; identify, recommend and articulate business needs priorities; advise on options, risks and costs versus benefits; assist with feasibility studies, design specifications, test analysis, and user training – right through final implementation; partner closely with other teams
