Welcome Back to The Shriver Center, Emily Paul '21!

Emily rejoins SLCE in a new capacity!

Shriver Center friends, please welcome back Emily Paul '21, global studies, as a Service-Learning & Community Engagement (SLCE) Program Specialist.

Emily was an integral part of the SLCE Program throughout her UMBC career, beginning as a member of the Shriver Living Learning Community (2017-18) and then as a Peer Mentor (2018-19).  In addition to the Shriver LLC,  Emily served as the Esperanza Center Student Coordinator for 3 years and the SLCE Intern in 2019-2020.  She also worked with Dr. Felipe Filomeno and Dr. Romy Hübler as a research fellow with PLACE (Partnership for Learning and Action between Communities and Educators). The research was largely conducted at Benjamin Franklin High School.  In summer 2019, she studied abroad in Colombia.

Previous to her return, Emily worked with an opinion polling firm in DC for the past 7 months. Her passions include building community and collaborating through grassroots action to address needs and promote assets, her dog Zoey, and pawpaws.

Emily supports the team upon the September departure of SLCE Program Coordinator Kasey Venn.
