IT Internships w/ Financial Industry Regulatory Authority

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) seeks two well-qualified Summer Interns for Application Security and Systems Engineering Internships.

The Application Security Engineer (ASE) works in the Technology Security Services office with a team of security engineers by applying expertise in software development, common web application security vulnerabilities, and software security assurance methods to ensure the security of FINRA’s application portfolio.

The Systems Engineering Intern works in the IT Division with senior Technology Services staff, applying advanced technology, planning and analytical skills to Technical Services projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Pursuing undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.  Software development skills in either Java/J2EE or C#/.NET desired.  Candidate should demonstrate an understanding of common web application security vulnerabilities, including methods of exploitation and mitigation.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Regular business working hours.
• Some travel may be required between FINRA offices in NY, Washington DC and Rockville
Standard business office environment.
