2022 Service-Learning & Civic Engagement Conference

Tuesday, 4/5 & Wed. 4/6 - FREE and VIRTUAL!

Some have known about this event since 2008 when Dr. Diane Lee first supported the Shriver Living Learning Community who planned "Solutions Through Service," co-sponsored by the Baltimore Collegetown Network. The event has evolved over the years in size, scope, and location. In 2009, the University of Baltimore hosted, and the Planning Committee renamed the event the Service-Learning & Civic Engagement (SLCE) Conference, at which time the now Campus-Compact Mid-Atlantic got involved. The last in-person event was held in November 2019 at the University of Maryland, College Park.  UMBC had a strong representation:  presenters, awardees, and attendees.  For more info on the UMBC's history with the event, visit https://midatlantic.compact.org/events-6/slce-conference/slce-conference-history/

This event is virtual and free and spans Tuesday, April 5th, and Wednesday, April 6th (busy with events to include the 2022 Presidential Faculty & Staff Awards: It's About Us! and the UMBC Community Read with Author D. Watkins ). See the attached (and linked) program, which includes UMBC's own Tess McRae.
