The AMD group has several “state of the art” instruments including HPLC and UHPLC, SEC/MALS, IC, GC-MS, Head-space GC, CE, and UV-VIS and also equipped with DOE based software for HPLC method optimization. The summer intern will develop analytical methods using these state of the art instruments. Academic background and practical experience with HPLC instruments is highly desirable. The summer intern will gain experience in analytical method development for pharmaceutical industry.

Baxter’s U.S. Internship Program provides interns with 12 weeks of supervised and practical work experience that is directly related to their academic studies and career goals. The program averages more than 100 students each year in areas such as, finance/accounting, engineering, information technology, manufacturing, packaging, research and development, marketing and regulatory affairs. After completing the Internship Program, many interns are hired as full-time employees.

At Baxter, interns typically will:

·          Assume full responsibility and contribute in a professional capacity in their internship area;

·          Gain experience through Baxter’s businesses and functions;

·          Learn from, work with and network with Baxter professionals from a variety of areas across the organization;

·          Receive performance assessments and feedback at the end of their assignment. Assessments and feedback are based on core intern responsibilities and the Baxter Leadership Expectations.

We do offer housing subsidies (students pay approximately $12 a day for rent and will have a room mate) and if needed, students can share a car with other summer interns living in the same housing complex.  The pay range depends on the year in school, $16 an hour for a Sophomore, $18 for a Junior and $20 for a rising Senior (graduates in spring 2014).  Our interns are also the first students considered for our rotational development program (2 year development program that includes 3 assignments in different areas and selected training courses).

Our summer internships also include several networking and developmental events and include interns from across many functions.  These events include chats with leadership, soft skill training, formal events with Corporate leaders, and social events.
