SERVICE-LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES STILL AVAILABLE

Be Somebody's Hero!

The Shriver Center still has some opportunities available for UMBC students interested in service-learning and civic engagement for the fall 2018 semester:

MS SWIM PROGRAM (Fridays, 1 - 4pm)

MS Swim has some openings available for students interested in assisting Multiple Sclerosis patients with their water-based physical therapy (aquatic exercises), as well as a chance to develop relationship-building skills.  A great opportunity for anyone interested in a healthcare career!

PAUL'S PLACE (Mondays/Wednesdays: Elementary School Mentor 3 - 4pm or High School Mentor, 4 - 6pm)

Paul's Place is looking for after-school mentors. They are recruiting mentors to work with elementary school students on homework and character building. Paul's Place is also recruiting mentors to work with high school students between 4-6pm specifically focusing on tutoring the students.

Mentors can serve at this site on Mondays or Wednesdays--but are welcome to serve both days!

Transportation is provided for both sites.

For more information, please contact the Shriver Center at (410) 455-2493 to schedule an appointment with either Shirley Carrington for the MS Swim Program or Kasey Venn for Paul's Place.
