January 28, 2010 3:29 PM
Did you know that Quest Diagnostics employs more than 900 MDs and PhDs nationwide? Did you know that, in addition to doctors, they are also seeking talented students interested in clinical healthcare, diagnostics, therapeutic research, and bioinformatics? Quest Diagnostics is the world’s leading provider of diagnostic testing, information and services that patients and doctors need to make better healthcare decisions. The company offers the broadest access to diagnostic testing services through its network of laboratories and patient service centers, and provides interpretive consultation through its industry-leading medical and scientific staff. AND they want YOU to work there! Join the Shriver Center on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19 as we go on the road to visit the Quest Diagnostics facility in Catonsville, MD. Our afternoon will be hosted by a UMBC alum and we will spend time hearing about what a diagnostics facility does, learning what internship and career opportunities are available and touring the laboratories. Transportation is provided, but an RSVP is required. You will receive confirmation of your registration prior to the trip date. Space is limited, so register early! Exact times of the visit are being finalized, but we expect the time commitment to be approximately 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm. Student qualifications for the Quest Diagnostics visit include: - A 2.5 GPA or above. - Major in a life science or biochemical/chemical engineering. To register for this tour, please RSVP via UMBCworks or e-mail your interest to Kerry Kidwell-Slak at The Shriver Center (410-455-2493, kerryk@umbc.edu).
