Seeking next year's scholars engaged in service!

Once again, UMBC will award one scholarship to a deserving UMBC student for academic year 2016-17 in recognition of the accomplishments and contributions of Jacqueline C. Hrabowski.

Selection Criteria
The scholarship recipient will be recognized based upon her/his commitment to improving the lives of at-risk urban youth through academic studies and community service activities.

  • Candidate should be a full-time, degree-seeking student at UMBC, enrolled in her/his sophomore year with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Candidate will be required to submit a resume and an unofficial transcript.
  • Candidate should submit a 500-word essay explaining actions that she/he has participated in that have contributed to improving the lives of Baltimore City youth.

Application Deadline:

Friday, April 15th, 2016, by 1 pm.  Interviews will be arranged accordingly. Selections will be made in May.
