PAID Spring Opportunities connected with The Shriver Center

SUCCESS Job Coaches and Young Explorers Fellows

1.  The SUCCESS Program is looking for a student to work in a paid position with the SUCCESS students as a Job Coach. The position runs Monday-Thursday 1-4pm. It is possible that this position can be broken up within the week (Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays).

Job Coaches work one-on-one with the SUCCESS students at various internship sites all around campus. The goals of a job coach are to assist the students with gaining the skills needed to work on the job independently. For more info on SUCCESS, go to http://shrivercenter.umbc.edu/about-success/  If interested, contact SUCCESS Program Coordinator Amy Poole ASAP at lacosse1@umbc.edu.

The program runs from 3-5:30 pm at Lakeland Elementary/Middle School and transportation is provided.  The Shriver Center van leaves at 2:45 from the Commons Loop and gets back around 6pm.  Enrollment in the 096 Community Service & Learning Leadership Practicum, a pass/fail transcript notation, is expected.  There is also a stipend involved. Promotion continues until the positions are filled - if interested, contact Project Director Zach Pekor ASAP at zpekor@umbc.edu.  Check out more info below.
